“How can one grasp and express the instability and fragility of our
times?”

Arrived at the impossibility to photographically depict a territory with
a history of at least 2500 years of goldmining, AUR, supposedly a series
about gold, restarts with the question above.

The conceptual arrangement of archival images and relics, such as stones
and metal structures evoke notions of incompletion and interrupts the
flow of events, re-arranges landscape views, offers approximations to
unknown territories and emphasises the idea of discontinuous, plural
histories. AUR becomes a speculative attempt at a less anthopocenic idea
of time. We are presented with sequences and fragments, not stories,
which invite to a point of contact with materiality without supporting
preconceived ideas about places. The boundary between reality and
imaginary dissolves, thus a speculative landscape can emerge as an
active agent that ‘speaks‘ not only of natural phenomena but also of
history. A history of instability and fragility, that is not closed and
can not be closed?
